Read An Overview of Josiah's Sons. Briefly, what stands out to you about the son's of Josiah?
Crisis reveals allegiance. How have you seen that play out in your life? Try to think of both positive and negative examples.
Read 2 Chronicles 36:15-16. Many people today either ignore or downplay God's wrath. Why do you think that is? According to this passage and other ones, what things provoke God's wrath?
One day, Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead for what they did and what they failed to do. Look again at the language of 2 Chronicles 36:15-16. What are some common reasons you think people today still fail to listen to and obey the Word of God?
Are there any ungodly habits, people, thoughts, or desires that may be hardening you from hearing and obeying the Word of God? Spend some time in honest reflection and confession with one another.
Read Jeremiah 29:10-14. Earlier we considered why people ignore or downplay God's wrath. Another thing we sometimes ignore or forget is God's promise-keeping. Why do you think that is? What is the danger of forgetting that God keeps all of His promises?
Read Hebrews 12:25-29. What things in your life can (and should) be shaken? What things cannot? What does it look like to live in and for the kingdom of God? And what does a life of "acceptable worship" look like in light of the awesomeness of God? Spend some time reflecting on these questions together, then go to God in worship and prayer.
