Has there ever been a time in anyone’s life when you sensed God asking you to trust Him with something big? What was it? How did you feel throughout the experience? What did you see God do in and through that situation? Have a few people briefly tell their stories.
Read Hebrews 11:7 and Genesis 6:5–18.
In Genesis 6:6, we are given a glimpse into the very heart of God. The phrase “it grieved him to his heart” in Hebrew literally means “indignant rage.” What does this passage reveal about the nature of sin and the holiness of God?
Genesis 6:18 is the first direct reference to a covenant in the Bible. What can we learn about God’s character when we see that He desires to covenant Himself with us even in the face of our rebellion?
At the center of Noah’s heart was a “reverent fear of God” (Hebrews 11:7). What do you think it means to reverently fear God?
As a group, discuss some specific ways God might be calling each of you to believe and obey Him, even in the face of the world’s ridicule or misunderstanding.
Spend some time in prayer, asking God to give you faith, grace, and mercy for whatever you face.
