Read Hebrews 2:17–18. Verse 17 marks the first mention of Jesus’ priesthood and its superiority. This idea will develop into a major theme. Look again at the phrase “a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God.” What do you think it means for Jesus to be a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God?
