To get things started, what is one specific area of your life right now where you need to be reminded that Jesus is better? Explain.
How are you feeling about your relationship with God today? How do you feel about Him? How do you think He feels about you? Be honest.
Read Hebrews 8:1–5. What does it tell us about God’s character that even though He needs nothing at all from us, He still covenants with His people?
What do you think the author is talking about when he says “copy and shadows of heavenly things” in Hebrews 8:5.
Read Hebrews 8:6–13. In verse 6, we see that the new covenant is superior to the old because it is “enacted on better promises.” What are those better promises that are quoted from the Jeremiah passage in Hebrews 8:8–12?
As you wrap up, look again at your answer to question 1. Individually, spend a few moments meditating on the superiority of Jesus. Then, as a group, ask God for the faith to believe that He really is better.
