Music Team Digital Content Resident

Summary

As part of the Music Team at The Austin Stone Community Church, the Music Team Digital Content Resident will be responsible for helping craft, execute, and manage the social media strategy and online presence of Austin Stone Worship to:

  • Encourage and edify The Austin Stone
  • Share the story of what God is doing in and through our Worship ministry and in the life of our church
  • Find unique and creative ways to share music, films, and other content externally
  • Collaborate on the Creative Direction and Release Strategy of new albums and artists

The Music Team Digital Content Resident will report to the Music Team Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Craft, execute, and manage the social media strategy and online presence of Austin Stone Worship and related artists
  • Capture and create engaging video, photo, and design content pertaining to writing, recording, and releasing music as well as content related to the Worship Ministry at The Austin Stone
  • Manage the online and social media presence for Austin Stone Worship on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Help design and execute creative social media campaigns to build awareness for the release of new singles, EPs, and albums from Austin Stone Worship and additional artists. 
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, as well as Canva and Social Media scheduling software, such as Later.com is a plus!

Detailed Responsibilities

Social Media

Content Planning:

  • Creating Monthly Social Media Plans/Schedules with Music Team Manager

Content Creation:

  • Creating/ Curating engaging Digital Content (photography, video, graphic design) for ASW Social Presences
  • Capturing and telling the story of Worship-related events /  Posting Photo or Video recaps of Creative Gatherings, Nights of Worship, Album recordings
  • Filming, editing short videos for Album release content
  • Find unique and creative ways to share music, films, and other content that ASW is releasing

Content Scheduling:

  • Scheduling Digital Content using Later.com (social media scheduling tool)
  • Uploading YouTube videos, thumbnail, captions.

Digital Community Management for ASW Presences/Artists on:

  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Facebook
Written Communication/Email

Assisting in creating, proofreading, and scheduling emails for

  • Album Content Releases
Albums
  • Assisting with the execution of album release Communication Plan
  • Assisting with the Creation and Editing of Album Resource Films + Content
  • Developing skills in managing Creative projects
  • Assisting on a variety of ASW/ Creative Team photography and music video shoots
Required Skills

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

  • Adobe Premiere - film editing
  • Adobe Photoshop - graphics - Editing
  • Adobe Lightroom or equivalent photo editing software 

Proficient in basic graphic design
Proficient in writing creative copy (emails, social media posts, album content)
Skilled in copy editing/ proofreading/ attention to detail

Music Team is dedicated to serving The Austin Stone by facilitating music creation, resourcing our worship ministry, and developing musicians. The team also collaborates with members of Worship Team and songwriters to write and release worship songs (along with helpful resources) for the church.

What will the schedule be like?

While each resident benefits from different ministry experiences, every resident completes our Austin Stone Development Program (ASDP), an in-depth study of doctrine and spiritual disciplines, leadership training modules, and a capstone project. Residents also attend weekly staff meetings, meet with supervisors once a week, and regularly gather with other residents for lunch and other activities. Residents prioritize abiding in Christ by sabbathing one day a week.

Are residents paid?

Yes, but residents raise financial support to provide a salary for two years.

How do residents raise support?

Residents go through mandatory training with Reliant, a partnering organization, to learn how to raise support and to manage financial gifts and supporters.

Where do residents live?

Residents live throughout the Austin metroplex, often choosing to rent an apartment or home with other residents. Residents are responsible for finding housing.
