Laura earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 2015 and moved to Austin shortly thereafter, where she has worked in technology sales for the past decade. Her desire to counsel others flows from her own experience of lasting hope and heart transformation through the Gospel, the living and active Word of God, and community. The Lord ignited her desire to counsel through the Austin Stone Development Program (ASDP) and affirmed it through completing Equipped to Counsel and serving in various care capacities at our church.
Laura is completing her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with an expected graduation in May 2026 (all counseling and practicum requirement courses have been completed) and is a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC), pursuing her Level 1 ABC Certification.
Laura has a passion to help counselees see God's transforming love, grace, and care at work in their darkest moments. She offers Christ-centered care rooted in Scripture with special interest and experience in eating disorders/body image, anxiety, depression, relationship issues/conflict, dating relationships, life change, questions of faith and identity struggles.
Laura is a Minnesota native who flocked south to Texas in 2017. She lives in east Austin with her husband Jackson and their lab named June. In her free time Laura enjoys adventuring outside, perfecting her espresso-making skills, working on her tennis or pickleball game, and living in the beautiful-chaos of her community.
