Education & Experience

Ava earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Graphic Design from Texas A&M University in 2022. After working as a graphic designer for 3 years, she felt God prompting her to change careers and pursue a counseling degree. She is currently a graduate student at Dallas Theological Seminary, where she is completing her Master of Arts in Counseling. Ava considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients with care, humility, and intentionality as their therapist.

Interests & Specialties

Ava is passionate about working with adults and adolescents, and has experience supporting these populations through church leadership, discipleship, and serving on Young Life staff alongside college volunteers. She desires to cultivate a counseling environment where clients feel safe, known, and genuinely heard as they navigate life’s challenges with hope and purpose. Her approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Person-Centered therapy, while remaining grounded in empathy, encouragement, and the belief that each person is deeply seen and loved by their Creator. Ava has a special interest walking alongside clients navigating anxiety, depression, identity challenges, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and family-of-origin dynamics.

Personal

Ava and her husband have lived in Austin since 2022. She can often be found outside with her husband and her dog, on a long walk, reading a book, coffee shop hopping, or spending time drawing and crafting. Most of all, she loves to spend time with her family and friends. After going to counseling for the first time in her early twenties, Ava saw how God can use the counseling space to transform lives. She is honored to now walk alongside others, pointing them toward Jesus and the hope of healing and restoration.
