“Jesus Forever” is a song celebrating that Jesus is fully God and fully man in one person, and will be forever! Can you imagine if we sung to some random guy that confessed to be God, but wasn’t born of a miraculous virgin birth and was just as broken and messed up as we are? What if he died the same death on the cross, but did not rise from the grave? Would he be worth singing to?
Singing “Jesus Forever” is singing the story of Jesus, who He is and what He’s done. We sing with HOPE in our hearts, knowing that there’s no end to Jesus. He was before time, He stepped into time, and He defeated death and lives and reigns forever! The name of Jesus is the only name that is above all names and is the only name that can save us. Therefore, because of the great work of Jesus Christ, we have much reason to sing to Him! We have much reason to lift Him high!
Before there was time you were up in the highest place…
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)
Before time, before creation, Jesus was! God, in His perfect plan, stepped into time by sending His only Son to put on flesh (John 1:14), to carry our cross, to die our death, and to bring us (His people) back to Him.
What a reason for us to sing to Him! What a reason to lift Him high!
You are the way, you are the life, and truth …
“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
Our only way back to God the Father is through Jesus Christ. He is absolutely our only way! It is through nobody else, only Jesus. There’s nothing that we can do to earn it, or deserve it, it is only by grace that salvation happens.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)
What a reason for us to sing to Him! What a reason to lift Him high!
Jesus You are Forever! Everlasting Life! Risen Savior!
Jesus says in John 8:58, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” I AM: the name God gave Himself in the Old Testament, Jesus also applied to Himself. I AM: a name that suggests a continual, present existence. Jesus is the eternal God. Jesus forever!
“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his son.” (1 John 5:11)
Jesus is our everlasting life. We have life in and with Him for eternity!
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen” (Luke 24:6)
Jesus is our risen Savior! He is no longer in the grave but alive!
What a reason for us to sing to Him! What a reason to lift Him high!
Our Hearts’ Forgiver …
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12)
Because Jesus is who He says He is, because He is fully God and fully man. He can sympathize with our failures and shortcomings while possessing the power to fully forgive us. He now calls us righteous, sons and daughters, His beloved children.
“For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
What a reason for us to sing to Him! What a reason to lift Him high!
