Join us as we partner with Mobile Loaves & Fishes to help support the homeless community in Austin! Every month, truck run teams prepare and deliver meals to feed our unhoused neighbors in Downtown Austin. These teams are led by truck run team captains who attend the Downtown Congregation.
Feel free to join us one time, commit to an existing team, or form your own team to serve once a month! Available teams are below:
- First Saturday of the month (4–7pm)
- Second Thursday of the month (5–8pm)
- Your custom day/time (contact Sarah Zarr to set this up)
Volunteer roles are below:
- Join for ONE HOUR to help prepare the food (mainly sandwich items that are provided by Mobile Loaves) and load the truck. Families often join this team to volunteer with their children! You'll meet at First Methodist Church on Lavaca Street.
- Join for TWO HOURS to help pass out food to and build relationships with those experiencing homelessness in Downtown Austin. You'll meet at First Methodist Church on Lavaca Street to help load the truck and drive around downtown to pass out food.
- Join for THREE HOURS for both options above.
