What is Women's Retreat?

Presence is crucial to our joy and our ability to faithfully follow Jesus - we were created out of relationship for relationship. In the highs and lows of life we so often just need someone to be there.

Contrary to our desire, connection doesn’t come easy in the midst of our hurried and overscheduled lives. We deeply long to connect in friendship, but what we really need is the presence of the One who has promised to never leave or forsake us. We’re inviting you into both.

Women’s Retreat 2024: Presence of Joy is a weekend away for connection and refreshment with other women, but it’s ultimately about finding our deepest joy in God’s faithful presence with us. We hope you’ll join us!

Teaching

Psalm 16:11 says: You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures. Throughout the weekend, we’ll dig into how and why the presence of God and our experience of joy are intertwined.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does my ticket include?

Overnight tickets (Bunkhouse and Semi-Private) include all lodging and meals (starting at Saturday breakfast). Semi-Private rooms also come with linens. Day Pass tickets do not include lodging, but cover lunch, dinner, and snacks on Saturday. All tickets include reflection and discussion guide for optional use at the retreat, the main sessions while at camp (Day Passes miss Friday and Sunday sessions), and a breakout session of your choice. Plus, you get access to all free-time activities and some swag to help you make the most out of the weekend!

How do I apply for a scholarship?

If you’d like to request a scholarship to join us for just Saturday (Day Pass) or to stay overnight (in a Bunkhouse), please complete the registration form and make the partial payment associated with that ticket type according to our payment plan. You can indicate when you register that you’re requesting financial assistance, and we’ll send a short scholarship application via email. Upon completion, you’ll be notified of the scholarship amount available to you. Please note, we do not offer scholarships for the Semi-Private tickets in order to provide financial assistance to as many women as possible.

How does the payment plan work and when will my second payment be due?

A two-part payment plan (initial payment and second payment) is available for all three of the ticket types. The initial payment (half of the ticket price) is due upon registering. The second payment is due on February 14. You’ll receive a reminder email and form to submit that payment.

Will the teaching content be available after March 1-3?

It’s our plan to film as much of the main session teachings as possible! However, due to technology limitations at Camp Tejas and the structure of the Friday and Sunday sessions, we can’t guarantee that all the teaching content will translate well to that medium and be made available. Our primary effort is focused on creating a weekend experience for women that offers great teaching but also emphasizes relationships with one another. So we encourage you to join us in person if possible!

What options do I have for free time?

The free time scheduled throughout the day on Saturday can be whatever you need it to be! Need to truly retreat and spend time alone and with Jesus? We’ll have a guide for reflection and discussion as well as designated quiet spaces like a chapel and mini-spa. Want to spend some time finding refreshment through play? You’ll have access to all the fun things Camp Tejas has to offer like a ropes course and giant swing, plus activities we plan just for you! This year, those include an exhilarating game of bunco, fireside chats with conversation starters, an early-morning workout if you’re an early riser, and our famous late-night silent disco. You can fill your time up with as much or as little activity as you like—it’s your retreat!

Can I bring my baby?

You are welcome to bring your infant to retreat! If you’d like to stay overnight, you’ll need to register for a Semi-Private room (not Bunkhouse) and communicate to your preferred roommates ahead of time so everyone in your room is aware of the baby bunkmate. If you come with a Day Pass, you’ll still have access to a room for nursing/pumping moms.

Can I bring my kids? Can my daughter attend with me?

Young women (high school seniors, at least 17 years old) are welcome to attend Women’s Retreat with their mom. It’s important to note we won't be modifying or limiting adult discussion in a way that specifically caters to teens or younger women, so moms need to be willing and available to help daughters navigate the teaching and discussion based on their maturity level.
