It’s not hard to fill our time up. Between obligations and the things we opt into, weekends can fly by leaving little behind but the feeling that it’s time to gear up for another week. We all need rest and connection, but much of life pulls us away from attending to those needs. We want a retreat, but what we really need is a refuge. We’re inviting you to both. Women’s Retreat 2023: Refuge is a weekend away for refreshment with other women, but it’s ultimately about finding our refuge in Jesus.
When we peel back the layers, we all feel it—the need for safety. We mask our weaknesses and build up our facades, believing this will give us the security we need to be fully known and fully loved. But the threats that face us every day—sin, brokenness, and a very real enemy—are no match for defenses of our own making. We cannot avoid them, and we cannot overcome them on our own.
This is where Jesus meets us. His faithfulness becomes ours when we are honest about our frailty. His provision becomes ours when we come empty-handed. His strength becomes ours when we lay ourselves down. Everything we need is found in embracing that we have nothing. Peace, freedom, and joy are ours only when we hide ourselves in Him. He is our protection and our abundance. Jesus is our refuge. We hope you'll join us!

Overnight tickets (Bunkhouse and Semi-Private) include all lodging and meals (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast). Semi-Private rooms also come with linens. Day-Pass tickets do not include lodging, but cover brunch, dinner, and snacks on Saturday. All tickets include a pre-retreat study guide, a rest and reflection guide for optional use at the retreat, the main sessions while at camp (Day Passes miss Friday and Sunday sessions), and a breakout session of your choice. Plus, you get access to all of the free-time activities and some swag to help you make the most out of the weekend!
If you’d like to request a scholarship to join us for just Saturday (Day Pass) or to stay overnight (in a Bunkhouse), please complete the registration form and make the partial payment associated with that ticket type according to our payment plan. You can indicate when you register that you’re requesting financial assistance and we’ll send a short scholarship application via email. Upon completion, you’ll be notified of the scholarship amount available to you. Please note, we do not offer scholarships for the Semi-Private tickets in order to provide financial assistance to as many women as possible.
A two-part payment plan (initial payment and second payment) is available for all of three of the ticket types. The initial payment (half of the ticket price) is due upon registering. The second payment is due on February 16. You’ll receive a reminder email and form to submit that payment.
It’s our plan to film as much of the main session teachings as possible! However, due to technology limitations at Camp Tejas and the structure of the Friday and Sunday sessions, we can’t guarantee that all of the teaching content will translate well to that medium and be made available. Our primary effort is focused on creating a weekend experience for women that offers great teaching, but also emphasizes relationships with one another, so we encourage you to join us in person if at all possible!
The free time scheduled throughout the day on Saturday can be whatever you need it to be! Need to truly retreat and spend time alone and with Jesus? We’ll have a guide for rest and reflection for you and designated quiet spaces like a library and mini-spa. Want to spend some time finding refreshment through play? You’ll have access to all of the fun things Camp Tejas has to offer like a ropes course and giant swing, plus activities we plan just for you! This year, those include a timed selfie-scavenger hunt, an escape room you can do with a small group of friends, fireside chats with conversation starters, or an early-morning workout if you’re an early riser, and we hope everyone joins us for the famous late-night silent disco! It’s a memory maker. You can fill your time up with as much or as little activity as you like—it’s your retreat!
