Education & Experience

Jim received his Doctor of Ministry and Master of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary (ATS) with a Certificate of Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). He's an active member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) currently acting as the Student Relations Advisor for the online, self-paced Level 1 Certification program. Jim is also a congregational elder at The Austin Stone Northwest.

Jim completed The Austin Stone Development Program (ASDP) and Equipped to Counsel (ETC). Prior to moving to Austin, he completed a Pastoral Discipleship program at the Village Church Denton. Additionally, Jim has completed Brief Intensive Counseling (BIC) at Stone Gate Resources and is currently an apprentice with Twelve Stones Ministries.

Jim began his professional IT career in 1978 while studying Business Administration from McNeese State University. During that time, he received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and completed Southwest CUNA Management School at Texas Christian University’s Neely School of Business.

Interests & Specialties

Jim’s desire is to see men grow into a fuller knowledge and love for Jesus through biblical counseling and discipleship. It's Jim’s hope that men and women’s hearts and lives would be transformed through the gospel.

Jim has experience working with marriage, divorce, re-marriage, grief, loss, shame, guilt, depression, anxiety, recovery, addictions, as well as money and priority management.

Personal

In 2000, Jim and Donna blended their families and have six adult children and 11 grandchildren. Jim enjoys reading and being outdoors with neighbors, family, and friends.
