Education & Experience

Crystal has an extensive background of working with children, teens, and parents since 2003 as a Certified Child Life Specialist. Crystal is a kid person through and through, and her love and respect for children inspired her to continue her education, completing her master’s degree in counseling in 2013 from the University of North Texas, with a specialty in play therapy. Crystal received her License in Professional Counseling (LPC) and her Registration in Play Therapy (RPT) in 2015, just before moving to Austin. In addition to her time at The Austin Stone, Crystal serves as a program director at Wonders & Worries, a nonprofit serving children impacted by a parent’s medical illness. Crystal enjoys the ability to speak explicitly the love of Christ to her clients—no matter how young or old they are. She has found the gospel so comforting as she walks alongside those experiencing suffering. It is her joy to help her clients experience Jesus more fully and accurately as He provides the comfort and peace no other source provides this side of heaven.
