The Austin Stone is looking for an intern to help in researching resources, assisting with the logistical side of running the ministry, administrative duties, and participating with developing the ministry as it grows. This job will require 12-15 hours per week (including Wednesday night Recovery meetings and other support group meeting nights).

The Austin Stone is looking for an intern to help in developing the overall counseling ministry as it grows to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of our growing church. This is a pastoral training internship focused on theological training, pastoral/counseling skills development, and implementation of counseling ministry in the local church.

The Austin Stone is seeking to equip, connect, and mobilize the body of Christ to care for the orphan at the Stone, across the city, and throughout the nations.  This internship will provide opportunities to interact in the church body, in collaboration with other churches and non-profits, and with well-established national orphan care programs. 

Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:  administration, Together for Adoption conference, networking with other churches and non-profits, and assisting in the development of environments in which to empower believers at the Austin Stone to care for the orphan.

The missional community and college ministry team are interested in recent college graduates who have a desire to spend one year practicing missional community at campuses in Austin as Level 1 Interns.  These campus missionaries will interact with both our missional community team and our college ministry team for training and leadership, but primarily be focused on planting missional communities on campus through outreach.  This internship would be excellent for individuals who desire to learn by experience what it looks like to plant a church from the harvest.

The Austin Stone College Ministry seeks to connect, equip, and mobilize students for the mission of God on their campus, in the city of Austin, and to the nations. We are interested in interns who have a desire to learn to contextualize missional community for college campuses, execute strategies for campus reaching, and help administrate and steward our ministry.

The Austin Stone college ministry is looking for a level 3 intern to assist us in planning events, developing an effective communication strategy for current leaders and students, alumni and other ministries. The main events the intern would be planning is our biannual event of Austin Stone on Campus and our monthly college leader gatherings. They would also keep our blog current and informed of all the work God is doing among our students. We would highly encourage this intern to pioneer new and creative ideas on their own that will advance Jesus’ kingdom.

The requirements are 12-15 hours a week in the office, attend all staff and college leadership team meetings and any other scheduled internship program events.

The For the City Network is looking for an intern who will assist in running Total City Sports Camp with responsibilities ranging from all or some of the following: general camp operations, administration, facilities management, marketing of the camp, etc. This intern will be required to attend weekly staff meetings for both the Austin Stone and the For the City Network as well as participate in general intern programming and Total City Sports Camp.

The Austin Stone ministers to refugees in Austin from countries like Cuba, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Burundi. We serve refugees through refugee family adoption as well as through the Village Center (a refugee community center that we helped to start). Refugee ministry interns will help mobilize and coach volunteers to serve refugees.

Requirements: a desire with the poor, cross cultural ministry experience is preferable, works well and comfortably with both Christians and nonChristians

The For the City Network is looking for an intern who will build high quality, functional websites for the different initiatives, programs, and projects that the network is involved in.  Total City Sports Camp, the St. John 5k, HopeFest, For the City Network’s intranet, and other events would benefit greatly from websites that could effectively communicate the vision and history of these different events, general info, and blogs.  Ideally the intern would create a format that would allow a template to be adjusted and used for all future website initiatives.  This intern position would report to both the director of the For the City Network and communications team of the Austin Stone.

The For the City Network is also looking for an intern who will assist in the development of infrastructure to support a new volunteer recruitment and tracking tool as well as a potential fund-raising portal.  This intern will be required to attend weekly staff meetings for both the Austin Stone and the For the City Network as well as participate in general intern programming.  Software development background with experience in agile development preferred.

The For the City Network is also looking for an intern who will assist in the development of the network concept as FTCN begins defining the different types of collaborations in the city, as well as networks that develop around individuals with a cause or common skill set in the city.  This intern will be required to attend weekly staff meetings for both the Austin Stone and the For the City Network as well as participate in general intern programming.  Business degree preferred (either pursuing it or already obtained it), but not required.

The Austin Stone KidStuff is looking for a Level 2 intern to develop and extend our large group worship time for preschoolers.  Responsibilities will include writing large group lessons for preschoolers, coming up with creative ways to communicate truth to preschoolers, and developing leaders to lead these worship times.  This intern will also be responsible for helping to support our preschool leaders on Sundays.

The right candidate for this job will have a heart to see children learning truths about God and a desire to come up with new and exciting ways to communicate this truth.  Experience with puppets or preschool children is preferred, but not required.

The Austin Stone KidStuff is looking for a Level 2 intern to foster community and build relationships among our preschool and nursery volunteer leaders.  Responsibilities will also include developing and executing recruiting strategies to help us support our ever-growing number of children.  This intern will also be responsible for helping to support our preschool leaders on Sundays.

The right candidate for this job will have a heart to see children learning truths about God and to support and recruit volunteer leaders to achieve this goal.  Skills include leadership, shepherding, and interpersonal communication.

The Austin Stone KidStuff is looking for a Level 2 intern to build a technology team for our grade school production.  Responsibilities will include recruiting, training, scheduling, and encouraging leaders to help with our lighting, sound, and projection equipment.  This intern will be responsible for ensuring that all sound effects, light effects, and projection slides are executed with precision and excellence to enrich our grade school worship experience.  He or she will also take the lead on maintaining, purchasing, and replacing our technical equipment.

The right candidate for this job will have a heart to see children worshiping God, and a desire to work behind the scenes to accomplish this.  Skills include organization, shepherding, and leadership.  Experience with sound equipment, ProPresenter, or lighting equipment is preferred, but not required.

The missional community team is looking for a level 3 intern to assist us in interviewing leaders and collecting stories of what God has been doing in the midst of our missional communities. The intern would be responsible for following up on story opportunities, interviewing leaders and group members, and creatively telling stories through appropriate media. Ideally, the applicant would have a background or interest in journalism, photography, or videography.  Additionally, the intern will put into practice the principles of missional community leadership.

The missional community team is looking for a level 3 intern to assist us in developing an effective communication strategy for current leaders and continue to develop and maintain resources for the ministry. The intern would utilize and maintain all of our communications platforms, and create new and creative avenues to advance Jesus’ kingdom through media. Additionally, the intern will put into practice the principles of missional community leadership.

We are currently looking for potential interns for the missional community ministry who have interest in leading a number of missional communities to further engage the mission of God in the city of Austin, and who have a desire to grow in their ability to equip the saints for the work of ministry.  This would be a pastoral training program focused on theological training, pastoral skills development, and implementation of missional community and leadership development.
