We hope your Junior Detective was able to join us this past Sunday for the first week of our Detective Academy! Detective Don Dangerfield has moved into KidStuff for the summer, and he's teaching all of our children how to be Junior Detectives.
Don knows that God has all the answers. And even though he knows that we will never know as much as God does, He has given us ways that we can learn the answers to a lot of things from Him. All summer long, your children will be learning ways to seek God to the answers to life's questions.
This week in our Preschool Department, Casey Clue (Don's little sister) visited our classrooms and asked your children for help finding the clues that Don left behind. These clues were going to tell us about God and what He is like. We quickly found a flower, and using that clue and Psalm 19:1-6, we learned that God made everything, and what He made tells us all about Him. Be sure and ask your preschoolers what a flower can tell us about God!
Check out the Big Talk cards for our memory verse and an activity to do with your children to build off of this lesson.
For Grade School, we taught the same basic lesson as Preschool, but more in depth. We talked about "general revelation," which is a theological term meaning "what God has revealed about Himself through what has been made." The Biblical passages we taught from were Psalm 19:1-6 and Romans 1:19-20. The bottom line is God has all the answers and He gives us creation to find some.
The God Time Cards link will take you to some daily devotionals that your children can do on their own, or that you can do with your children. The Bulletin Board page is a summary of what we taught, including the memory verse passage your grade school children will be learning all summer long.
