In Preschool on Sunday, we finished up our series on the topic of "God made me." We focused on the fact that God made us to tell others about Him, teaching from Matthew 28:16-20 and Mark 16:14-18.

For Grade School, we extended our series on patience for one more week so that we could finish the story of the exodus. We showed the children that God was faithful to bring the Israelites into the promised land, and extended that to the present day. We talked about God's promises to us and that for all those who have faith in God, God will be faithful to save them. The bottom line was that God has a plan to rescue those who believe in Him.

In Preschool this month, we're teaching how God made us to worship Him. This week, we talked about how God made us to praise Him! The Bible passage we taught from was Psalms 146-150. They are great, short psalms of praise to God. Read them yourself when you get a chance!

For Grade School, this was our last week teaching on patience - trusting God for what to provide and when to provide it. This week, we are ending our series by teaching on prayer from Psalm 103 and 7:7-11. The bottom line is that spending time with God in prayer helps me be patient.

The last four weeks we have studied about patience by looking at the life of Moses. This week we are going to learn about a skill that can help us be more patient.
Bible Story: Take time to Remember and Ask • Psalm 103, Matthew 7:7-11
Bottom Line: Spending time with God in prayer helps me be patient.
Prayer is one of the best ways that we can be patient. Simply put, prayer is just listening and talking to God. It allows us to ask God for what we want or think we need and to listen to Him. It also allows us to be open and real with Him when we are worried or scared or frustrated. We can ask him to help us trust and to help us remember that He is in control.
An important part of prayer is remembering all that God has done for us and thanking Him for it. Sometimes when we get caught up in thinking about what we need or want, we forget about all that we have. Psalm 103 reminds us of this exact thing. Remembering what the Lord has given us or done for us will help adjust KEEP READING
Bible Story: Moses Strikes the Rock • Numbers 20:1-13
Bottom Line: Believing God will help me be patient with people.
We have already learned about a time when the Israelites did not get what they wanted and they complained to Moses and Aaron about it. You would think that the Israelites would remember that God is in control and that He is leading them and will take care of them by now, but they had not. (I apparently have not learned this lesson either!) So, they come to Kadesh and there is no water and they complain and grumble against Moses. Moses and his brother go and pray to God asking what to do, and God tells them to speak to the rock and He will cause water to flow.
All seems normal, until Moses gets out in front of everyone and loses his cool. Perhaps he is just tired of them complaining (after all this had been going on for YEARS!!!) or perhaps it was spurred on in part by the grief Moses was suffering with the death of his sister. But in any case, he yells at KEEP READING
