Here's what your Junior Detectives learned this week in Don Dangerfield's KidStuff Detective Academy. Don knows that God has all the answers. And even though he knows that we will never know as much as God does, He has given us ways that we can learn the answers to a lot of things from Him. All summer long, your children will be learning ways to seek God to the answers to life's questions.
Casey Clue joined us again in our Preschool Department, asking your children to use the skills they have learned in the first five weeks of the Detective Academy to solve a mystery. Casey and our preschoolers worked together this week to solve the mystery: What is love? We looked at 1 Corinthians 13 to help us solve this great mystery.

Hello,
Let me begin this announcement by saying thank you to everyone for such a great and exciting summer. I know that when we announced at the beginning of the summer that there would be some changes and some adjustments to Student Ministry, we would be faced with some challenges but with every challenge has come yet another opportunity for us to trust in God to deliver us.
With that, it gives me great joy to announce the latest string of changes. While I hesitate to say that this will be the LAST change, it will be one of the most significant changes for a long time.
For High School
Beginning Wednesday, August 4, 2010, TeenRock will change to its permanent time of 7PM. We will still be meeting at Reagan High School.
On Wednesday, August 25, 2010, TeenRock will move from Reagan High School to the new Austin Stone St. John Facility. We will literally be the first group to use the space for worship. Don't let that fact pass you by. Students. The Next Generation. KEEP READING

Casey and our preschoolers learned this week that God gives us community to show us answers to life's questions. Our friends and family help us to learn more about God and to get to know Him better. We learned from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

Casey Clue joined us again in our Preschool area, asking your children for help finding the clues that Don left behind. These clues tell us ways that God gives us to learn the answers from Him. Casey and our preschoolers learned this week that God gives us prayer to show us some of the answers to life's questions. We know that prayer is simply talking to God, and He wants us to talk to Him anytime and anywhere. We learned from Matthew 6:5-15.

This summer, in addition to training up junior detectives, we want to challenge them to memorize a passage of scripture. For the next few months, we are asking our grade school kids to memorize Psalm 139:1-18 in the NIrV. We would love for you ro partner with us in this and help these little ones hide the Word in their hearts. We found out last summer that the kids are way better at this than most of us, so we are challenging our leaders as well. Here it is:
Psalm 139:1-18
1 Lord, you have seen what is in my heart.
You know all about me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know what I'm thinking even though you are far away.
3 You know when I go out to work and when I come back home.
You know exactly how I live.
4 Lord, even before I speak a word,
you know all about it.
5 You are all around me. You are behind me and in front of me.
You hold me in your power.
6 I'm amazed at how well you know me.
It's more than I can understand.
7 How can I get away from KEEP READING

A "Parent to Parent" post by Angela Suh.
Since becoming a mom, I have been searching for ways that I can be involved in ministry with my kiddos. I want them, from their earliest memories, to remember somehow being involved in the spread of the Gospel. It's been hard to find ways to do this with two children under the age of 3, but I've found one thing I can do : prayer-walk. Throw the kiddos in the stroller (with sunscreen, cheerios, water and a toy) find a few other moms who want to join in, and then walk while praying. Pretty simple.
I have only been prayer-walking a handful of times in my life, so I'm not an expert. We have now been two times near our neighborhood. Prayer-walking is helpful to me because you actually see with your eyes the people and places for which you are praying. As you're going along, the Spirit prompts your heart to pray over a specific building or house or a stranger on the street. And - having seen the needs and begun asking God to meet them - He has KEEP READING

TeenRock is also excited about having student athletes from Total City Sports Camp (which starts this week) there as well. Total City Coaches are encouraged to come with their students.
Everything starts at 8PM and we will be meeting in the Performing Arts Center at Reagan High School (look for the signs).
We will continue to meet at Reagan throughout the summer. TeenRock Middle School resumes Sunday at 9am at Austin High School.

KEEP READINGA "Leader Lesson" from Christopher L. Frank, or "Frank Frank" as we all know him.
I remember moving to Austin about a year and a half ago trying to figure out what life would be like, and what ministry would look like, now that I was away from college.
I had just spent the past five years heavily involved with Campus Crusade for Christ (including the final year on staff with Cru). I loved it, every minute of it. God grew me a ton, too. But there was something about college ministry that seemed so yesterday - so 2008 - and I felt it was time for a change.
I had originally wanted to be involved with the film team here at the Stone. I had heard a sermon where we were encouraged to ‘get in the fight', and I knew it was time for me to step up and start serving. The film team seemed like a great fit, considering I wanted to be a screenwriter.
I was all set to get plugged in with the team, but a few extenuating circumstances arose. For a time, I was in limbo. Maybe I would do KEEP READING
