"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Mt. 28:18-20)
The first major act of obedience for a disciple of Jesus is their baptism. Jesus modeled baptism for us (Mt. 3:13-17) and He teaches us to baptize each other as we begin our journey of obedience and joy in following Jesus (see Mt. 28:18-20 above).
At The Austin Stone we love baptism because it marks a transformed live - and we love transformation!
Every semester we have a baptism service. If you are interested in being baptized, SIGN UP HERE. The baptism service is at our November First Tuesday Prayer service. Sign ups are open until Oct. 24th, and the mandatory baptism class is Oct. 25th at 11:15AM at Austin High School.
To encourage you, check out the video of a recent baptism at Town Lake.
