Beginning Turkish
10 weeks
Fee: $25 Homework: 2-3 hours/week
In this class, you will learn Turkish from a fluent speaker. This is an applied learning course where you will learn how to speak, read, and write beginning Turkish. Learning Turkish will better enable you to engage with Turks in Austin and abroad.

Building Stronger Marriages
10 weeks
For: Married couples
Fee: $25 Homework: 1-2 hours/week
Are you married? Kids...no kids? Three years...twenty-three years? Together, Marrieds in the Austin Stone will walk through what the Bible teaches us are the keys to building stronger marriages and healthier families. In the community of this Get Trained class, our time together will not be to add more "you should be doing..." to your life, but rather to reveal more of God and His ways to you. The result? Greater freedom, fullness, and spiritual fruitfulness will be evidenced in your marriage through Seeking Him in humility, honesty, repentance, grace, holiness, obedience, forgiveness, sexual purity. The Lord promises to meet us when we seek Him with all our heart....come join us. Course fee includes book.

Counselor Training

This class is designed for those serving in our counseling ministry, with the purpose of equipping individuals to respond appropriately to personal, emotional, grief and loss issues, and to reach out and touch the lives of hurting people. Crossing Cultures

This course will prepare you to cross cultural barriers that inhibit the understanding and valuing of the supremacy of Jesus Christ. This is an applied course that focuses on building skills for cross-cultural interaction in your neighborhood, at the office, and around the world.

Encountering the World of Islam

There are almost two million Muslims in the US alone, making Islam the second most popular religion in the United States. Sadly, Christians rarely reach out to Muslims. Some feel Muslims are too difficult to reach with the Gospel. Others simply don’t know where to start such a cross-cultural conversation. Ephesians: Saved by Grace, Walking in Power

In this inductive Bible study we will look at what the book of Ephesians calls the mystery of Christ. We will learn that God's chosen people have been set free from sin by Jesus and are united together as the church. Through God's power we can walk worthy in the manner of the calling we have received - to live in unity, holiness, and love in all of our relationships.

Gospel Christianity

Often, as Christians, we love the gospel because of what it has done for us: salvation. Do we understand the gospel is not only the foundation for salvation, but also for our day-to-day life? This class will examine how salvation is in many ways just the beginning of the good news of the gospel, and consider how the gospel should be the lens through which we see everything we think and do.

This class will examine the three primary Biblical references to Mary and Martha of Bethany. Memorizing Scripture: History of Redemption

Join us as we memorize the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, that tell the history of God's work of redemption. Knowing the story of redemption told directly from Scripture will be an indispensable tool for evangelism and will cause your mind and heart to get a deeper understanding of God's greatness.

Mercy Ministry

Mercy ministry is taking part in the building & restoring of the Kingdom of God in broken lives, living out the gospel through word and deed. Understand the call of God to mercy and the skills necessary to meet the needs of the poor, the orphan, the widow, and all of the least of these. You will learn the scriptural basis for mercy and be trained to assess and meet needs, begin a mercy ministry, and participate in the current ministries that the Austin Stone Community Church is currently partnering with to reach the city. The class will be half-practical project based so there will be outside class participation required.

Overcoming Sin and Temptation

For: men's class and women's class
Fee: $20 Homework: 2-3 hours/week
Sin is tenacious, but by God’s grace, we can hate it and hunt it. Together we will search the Scriptures and discuss the why’s and how’s of killing sin and overcoming temptation in our lives through pursuing Christ. This class is based on the work Mortification of Sin, by John Owen. We will meet for 5 weeks of class time, followed by 4 weeks of outside accountability groups, finishing with 1 class to wrap up and discuss next steps. Course fee includes book.
