Pre-Marital Counseling

The Austin Stone values the sanctity and covenant of marriage and wants to prepare you to have a marriage that is healthy, God-honoring and life-long.  With that in mind, we ask that couples who want to be married by our church do the following:
  1. Fill out and submit the Pre-Marital Agreement (Word Document) to notify us of your upcoming wedding, contact information, personal information and specific needs. 
  2. Sign up for the Nearly/Newly Married class (offered in the fall and spring).
  3. Spend time with a pre-marital mentor couple. Once you have submitted your application, we will begin the process of matching you with a mentor couple.  They will walk you through a series of sessions designed to equip you with the resources you'll need to build a healthy, God-honoring marriage. In preparation for each session, you will each need to complete various reading assignments and listen to/watch several audio and video files.

  4. (Optional) Take part in the Intimate Encounters weekend, offered once in the fall and once in the spring (email for more info).
  5. Meet with officiant. If a pastor or elder from The Austin Stone is performing your wedding ceremony, we will set up a meeting between the three of you to discuss your pre-martial experience and the details of your wedding ceremony.
