New to The Austin Stone?

We're a Church for the City

The Austin Stone is not something you go to, it's a community to be a part of, centered around the person and mission of Jesus Christ.

We're actively working to build a great Austin, renewed and redeemed by the gospel. Read more about our vision. To get to know us, check out one of our Sunday worship services or read about other ways to get involved by clicking on the "Getting Connected" tab below.

This Week:

Each of our worship services are identical. That said, click on a time for a few service-specific elements.

We Meet at Austin High School:

Here's a map. Click on the blue marker for driving directions.

Where to Park:

There is parking available on site at Austin High School—look for the signs as you're getting close. Street parking is also available on Stephen F. Austin Drive. Because AHS is so close to Lady Bird Lake, parking can be tricky, especially when it's nice outside. The best way to guarantee yourself a spot is by arriving a few minutes early.

From There:

Once you park, head towards the doors of the high school. Look for one of the entrances with a "Welcome to The Austin Stone" sign. Here are a few helpful hints for once you're inside.

  • Follow the signs: We've setup directional signage throughout the AHS campus to help you find your way. If you arrive early, follow the arrows to the "Welcome Center" - it's a good place to hang out until the service starts.
  • Welcome Team: Our welcome team members are walking knowledge banks, there to help you find your way and answer your questions. Look for a blue name tag, introduce yourself, and ask away.
  • KidStuff: If you've got a child 5th grade and under, follow the signs to the KidStuff check-in area. Our KidStuff staff would love to meet you and tell you about their Sunday offerings for your children.
  • Coffee: We serve Dominican Joe's coffee each Sunday. Pick up a cup in the Welcome Center before the service.

Here are a few ways to find out more about us, meet other people, and get involved.

  • For Jesus

For us, everything starts and ends with Jesus. If you are still figuring out who He is and what that means, Sunday services and Missional Communities are both great places to explore and consider. If you're looking for a brief introduction, here's a place to start.
  • Missional Communities

Missional communities are small groups of people that equally value the intentional relationships and the missional work that Jesus calls His followers to. Missional communities are where church happens throughout the week. Find out more about missional community at The Austin Stone , or find one near you.
  • Service Opportunities

From welcoming others at a Sunday service to volunteering with us at a local non-profit, serving at The Austin Stone is a great way to get involved. See our current list of opportunities and try out a few (the "in the church" opportunities are often the best way to meet other Austin Stone folks).
  • What Else is Going On?

In addition to the above, we often have things like prayer services, forums, and other church-wide events going on. Check our "What's Going On" page for the latest.
  • Identity and Beliefs

Taking part in any of the above is a great way to find out more about who we are and what we believe. As a quick reference, we also have our core beliefs, values, and mission available here.
