Here's what your Junior Detectives learned this week in Don Dangerfield's KidStuff Detective Academy. Don knows that God has all the answers. And even though he knows that we will never know as much as God does, He has given us ways that we can learn the answers to a lot of things from Him. All summer long, your children will be learning ways to seek God to the answers to life's questions.
Casey Clue joined us again in our Preschool Department, asking your children to use the skills they have learned in the first five weeks of the Detective Academy to solve a mystery. Casey and our preschoolers worked together this week to solve the mystery: What is love? We looked at 1 Corinthians 13 to help us solve this great mystery.

In Grade School, we taught the same basic lesson as Preschool, but more in depth. Our Grade School Junior Detectives also worked together to KEEP READING

We learned from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

Casey Clue joined us again in our Preschool area, asking your children for help finding the clues that Don left behind. These clues tell us ways that God gives us to learn the answers from Him. Casey and our preschoolers learned this week that God gives us prayer to show us some of the answers to life's questions. We know that prayer is simply talking to God, and He wants us to talk to Him anytime and anywhere. We learned from Matthew 6:5-15.

This summer, in addition to training up junior detectives, we want to challenge them to memorize a passage of scripture. For the next few months, we are asking our grade school kids to memorize Psalm 139:1-18 in the NIrV. We would love for you ro partner with us in this and help these little ones hide the Word in their hearts. We found out last summer that the kids are way better at this than most of us, so we are challenging our leaders as well. Here it is:
Psalm 139:1-18
1 Lord, you have seen what is in my heart.
You know all about me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know what I'm thinking even though you are far away.
3 You know when I go out to work and when I come back home.
You know exactly how I live.
4 Lord, even before I speak a word,
you know all about it.
5 You are all around me. You are behind me and in front of me.
You hold me in your power.
6 I'm amazed at how well you know me.
It's more than I can understand.

We learned from 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

We hope your Junior Detective was able to join us this past Sunday for the first week of our Detective Academy! Detective Don Dangerfield has moved into KidStuff for the summer, and he's teaching all of our children how to be Junior Detectives.
Don knows that God has all the answers. And even though he knows that we will never know as much as God does, He has given us ways that we can learn the answers to a lot of things from Him. All summer long, your children will be learning ways to seek God to the answers to life's questions.
This week in our Preschool Department, Casey Clue (Don's little sister) visited our classrooms and asked your children for help finding the clues that Don left behind. These clues were going to tell us about God and what He is like. We quickly found a flower, and using that clue and Psalm 19:1-6, we learned that God made everything, and what He made tells us all about Him. Be sure and ask your preschoolers what a flower can tell us about KEEP READING
Hanna is a close friend of Don, Stern, and Casey. She helps out the detective agency however she can. Since she was the last to join the team, she's officially the receptionist/administrative assistant... though sometimes she figures out the mysteries before the others can! In that way, she's kind of like Penny from Inspector Gadget. She helps keep the team focused, and makes sure they never give up.
Your kids aren't going to want to miss a single Sunday getting to know these characters. Come join us on the third floor of Austin High School during the 9am, 11:15am, or 5pm services. As usual, we will be providing childcare during the 7pm service.
Casey is Don Dangerfield's little sister. She looks up to him, and tries to help out Don when she can, but she's kind of clumsy. What she brings to the team most is joy. She's always happy and willing to give her best to seeking God for the answers to life's mysteries! She will be spending a lot of time with our preschoolers, as well as showing up in the Grade School skits from time to time.
Tomorrow, we'll introduce you to the last member of the Detective Academy team.
Holmes has Watson. Shawn Spencer has Gus Guster. Dr. House has Dr. Wilson. And Don Dangerfield has Sargent Stern. Every brilliant, eccentric detective needs someone wise to keep him grounded. That's Sargent Stern. While he's not always in favor of Don's zany methods, he respects Don's skills and dedication. And Don appreciates Sargent Stern's ability to fix things when Don's sometimes unusual methods have unintended side effects. In short, they're best friends.
Check back tomorrow to learn about Don's little sister, Casey Clue.
Now that we've told you a little bit of what to expect from our Detective Academy this summer, it's time to introduce you to our cast of characters! First up is the fearless leader of the Academy, Detective Don Dangerfield.
If you've ever been to one of our FX (family experience) services over the past few summers, you have met our usual cast of characters that we use every Sunday. They center around Gordo, a somewhat nerdy middle school boy, his mother, his grandfather, and his friends.
This summer, Gordo has some long-lost cousins come to visit. Enter Don "Danger" Dangerfield. He's... an eccentric middle-schooler, to say the least. He fancies himself a detective, and dresses and acts the part. But he is good at what he does. He is going to teach Gordo, our KidStuff characters, and all of our children all about being a detective.
For the first five weeks, he'll be teaching about different things that God has provided to help us seek Him for the answers. Your kids KEEP READING
